SIBUYAN SEA, Philippines--The discovery that the MV Princess of the Stars was carrying the toxic pesticide endosulfan when it set sail has prompted the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to suspend search, rescue and retrieval operations in the area where it sank on June 21 at the height of Typhoon "Frank" (international codename: Fengshen).

MANILA, Philippines—Sulpicio Lines has blamed the weather bureau for its allegedly inaccurate reports on the movements of Typhoon "Frank" (international codename: Fengshen) which it said caused the sinking of the company's Princess of the Stars.

The company said it was considering suing the Philippine Atmospheric and Geophysical, Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the country's weather forecaster, for gross negligence.
